PCB Joint Concert with Ponteland Ladies Choir

We were delighted to be invited to play in a joint concert with Ponteland Ladies Choir in the beautiful St Marys Church, Ponteland.

The choir sounded amazing in the church acoustic.

After the interval PCB played a well received set of tunes ranging from Billy Joe to Baggy Trousers before the grand finalĂ© piece, ‘Lovely Day’ arranged by our very own Caroline Guirr for Band and Choir.

We had a great evening and are already looking forward to be able to do this again!

Thanks again to Ponteland Ladies Choir for inviting us.

Battle of the Bands 2026!

What an amazing evening of joint music making we had in March hosted by Prudhoe Social Club.

We were treated to an interesting programme of music from Whittonstall, Prudhoe and Ponteland Community Concert Bands.

We are so lucky to have three thriving community concert band in our region due in no small part to the infectious enthusiasm of our three MD’S Dave Hignett, Alastair Lord and John Bradford. (Strictly in order of seniority)

The evening ended with a massed concert band version of ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ by the Foundations which brought the house down.

Thanks as always to Prudhoe Social Club for hosting the evening and providing a fantastic rehearsal space for us every week.

PCB ‘A Grand Day Out’ at Beamish Museum

Thank you to Beamish Museum for inviting us to play at the old Hetton Silver Band Hall on Sunday.

Based in the Pit Village this historic old building was one of the few purpose built band halls in the country.

With the sun shining for once we had a lovely afternoon playing for an enthusiastic audience relaxing on the lawn outside.

They were well up for a bit of audience participation in the Sailors Hornpipe. Faster clapping means faster playing!

We are now having a summer break until we resume rehearsals in September so look forward to seeing any new players who might like to join us then.
